Project Details
Description
The project is focussed in the use of the photocatalytic processes as a method for the treatment of contamined effluents. The objective is to develop devices able to work in a continuous mode, in which the catalyst remains as stationary phase, either fixed on a inert support or supported on non-reactive particles to make easy the phase separation. The project consists of : 1) preparation and characterization of the catalysts; 2) design and test of different photoreactors; 3) study of the degradation kinetics of organic chlorinated compounds, in the liquid and gas phase and with dicontinuous or continuous devices; 4) elaboration of radiation models; and 5) modelling and simulation of the photocatalytic processes studied.
