Design synthesis and characterization of homogeneous and heterogenized precursors containing sulphur ligands

This joint project is aimed to develop, in four stages, the following tasks: a) syntesis and characterization of homogenous catalytic precursors derived from the platinum group metals and specially designed sulfur and phosphorus ligands; b) catalytic evaluation in reactions of: (1) selective homogenous hydrogenation; (2) regio-and enantioselective homogenous hydroformylation of functionalized alkenes; (3) solid-gas hydrogenation and hydroformylation reactions of alkenes and alkynes; c) kinetics and theoretical studies of the best performing catalytic systems. Study of model intermediates for these reactions; d) heterogenization of molecular catalytic precursors on organic and inorganic functionalized insoluble matrices.
