Description

Industry needs of rapid and reliable analytical methods to control in an efficient way so raw materials and manufactured products as production intermediates and the production process itself in order too control both the final product quality and the efficiency of the different processes involved. This project extends a research line began in a previous one with the main objective of developing new spectrophotometric analytical methods to fulfill the needs mentioned above. Near infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) is a suitable technique for this objective because of the nil dmple pretreatment and the rapidity to achieve the spectral information that treated with the appropiated chemometric procedures allows to get the required analytical data in a very short time: however the use of other techniques is also foreseeing accordingly with the studied proble requirements. Several problems, with different degrees of complexity and demands on the results, wil be studied, in relationship with a broad spectrum of industrial fields: pharmaceutical, food, petrochemical, textile and leather. Agreements with different industries in these fields have been stablished in order to ensure the applicability of the developed analytical procedures. In relation with an actual pharmaceutical problem, the identification and determination of enantiomeric compounds by NIRS and circular dchroism and optical rotatory dispersion as alternatives to HPLC and capillary electrophoresis.
