Project Details

The use of biocatalysts in peptide synthesis, in combination with other well-known methodologies, is becoming an excelent way for the synthesis of short and large peptides at both laboratory and industrial scale. The need of rules for its general applicability is the major problem that makes the enzyme technology tedious and time consuming due to the large number of variables to be optimized. The aim of the present project is the development of methodological aspects of enzymatic peptide synthesis, to overcome the bottlenecks that are often encountered during its application. Among other goals, this project is intended to develop the following aspects: 1) the application of the experimental retrosynthetical analysis for the optimization of total enzymatic synthetic schemes and its application to the synthesis of the cholecistokinin carboxy terminal octapeptide CCK-8 and the undecapeptide
