Project Details

Advanced wastewater treatmenr technology is designed to remove those cotaminants that are not adequately removed in the secondary plants. Among the advanced membrane-based processes most commonly used for wastewater treatmenmt are: osmosis, reserve osmosis, ultrafiltration, nanofiltration, microfiltration and electrodyalisis. One of the most important problems usually present in membrane processes deals with produce coating and fouling of the membranes, in this project, taking into account the interest of the company PRIDESA, as a manufacturer of polymeric membranes and its application to wastewater treatment, we propose: the implementation of new membranes for reserve osmosis, ultrafiltration and nanofiltration processes in order to increase their physical and chemical with respect to the actual membranes produced by the company and (b) the control of physical and chemical parameters in the wasterwater treatment process both in the membrane and aqueous phase. In relation to the latter aspect, the possibility of developing chemical membrane sensors may contribute with new analytical control instruments for water quality. Furthermore, the application of other membrane characterization techniques in the membranes manufactured by them and that are been applied nowadays in wateerwater treatment processes.
