Description

In this project, we try to design, synthesize and characterize new molecular materials. These materials are macrocyclic or acyclic molecules containing sulfur (thioether) and/or phosphor atoms. We try to test the chemical recognition of these compounds in front of metal cations and anions. The new molecules synthesized will be incorporated as selective carriers in liquid membranes or supported liquid membranes in solid polymeric matrix. The membranes will be studied as selective transport systems, ion selective membrane based electrodes, optical sensors and field effect transductors.
