Corpus documental i iconogràfic de l'art del Renaixement a Catalunya 1500-1640

The research project we are introducing wants to achieve two main aims: firstly, it will compile accurately all documentary information about art and artists of the Catalonian Renaissance; secondly, this research will form a complete inventory of graphic material which offers the visual expression of that artistic activity, taking special care of both existing final works and the missing ones (those recovered as photographic documents and other sources like drawings and engravings). With this task, our team is trying to set an useful frame of reference for many studies in this important period of our cultural and artistic history, unfortunately still so disregarded. Only a simultaneous work in both fronts, documentary and iconographic, will let us get an effective and coherent complete picture.
