This project deals with the microeconomic determinants of competitiveness and puts emphasis on those strategic and organizational factors of the firm which influence on its level of performance; it also includes applications to Spanish firms. The project is a combination of methodological and empirical research. Among the first one we include the study of the link between competitiveness and productivity growth and the general issue of how to evaluate the competitive level of a particular firm. Empirical research include studies of productivity growth in Spanish industrial sectors and theme asurement of the influence on performance of a sample of Spanish firms of ownership and control structures.
