Project Details
Description
Magnesium based alloys have been intensively studied during the last decades as potential candidates for hydrogen
storage systems. Due to their higher hydrogen storage capacity, lower density and natural abundance, as compared with
other hydrogen storage alloys (e.g. AB5, AB2 alloys), they are considered as the most promising materials for storing
hydrogen.
In the present project we intend to synthesize different Mg2-xMxNi (M=Ti,Zr,V,Al) alloys by MA and to optimise
their composition and microstructure (nanocrystalline, nano-/amorphous) to improve the hydrogen sorption
characteristics of these type of alloys.
