Project Details
Description
The goals of the project are the design of new homochiral ligands and the synthesis and characterization of their transition metal complexe in order to evaluate their activity and selectivity in a series of relate catalytic reactions fos relevance in the synthesis of fine chemicals. Complexes of interest will have ligands with soft donor atoms (sulfut, phosphorous) and platinum group metals (Pd, Pt, Rh, Ir and Ru). The catalyti reactions to be evaluated willbe: hydroformylation, hydrocarboxylations, hydroalcoxycarbonylation, and hydrogenation. The substrates will be prochiral olefins and ketones, as well as alkynes. From these molecules, enantiomericaly pure aldehydes, carboxylic acids, and alcohols of interest for the fine chemical industry willbe obtained. Also, in the most interesting cases, kinetic and mechanistic studies will be undertaken. This will allow knowlegeable improvement o
