Caracterització textural de marbres i quarcites mitjançant tractament d'imatge

During the last few years, we have developed a method, based on image processing techniques, with application to petrographic characterization of one-phase marbles (calcite or dolomite), but its performance is limited. So, a generalised use of it is wanted, i.e. its application to the geostructural study of two phase marbles and deformed quartzites in order to determine their strain. Algorithms for textural study and a model for a useful routine system for non-experts are also searched. First geological interest is astereological-parameter fast and easy attainment, indispensable for the petrographical characterization of stones.
