Project Details


This project takes the economic measurement of environmental impacts as the central question. In proposes the study of two issues, the costs of the increasing Spanish emissions of carbon dioxide (in the context of the discussion on an international "Ecological Debt"), and the benefits from the conservation of "wild" and agricultural biodiversity in some particular cases located in Ecuador and Peru. Starting from such compartative empirical research, and from some other case studies, the research team will make a contribution to the discussion on economic-environmental valuation (in cooperation with a research project by DGXII of the European Commission, PL950429).
