Anàlisi de gens candidats per a la capacitat uterina i expressió gènica en l'ovari i úter del conill

It is intended in this project to complement the research that started in project AGF98-0382. We have two lines selected on uterine capacity by divergent selection, and a control population originated with frozen embryos. The divergent lines have a difference of more than three implantation sites. We propose to search a gene responsible of this difference by using the technique of candidate genes for uteroglobina and progesterone, and by analysing RNAm of uterus and ovary of both divergent lines. We also propose to start a selection program on ovulation rate, since genetic parameters show that correlated response in litter size can be higher that direct selection for this trait
