The intercomprehension between typologically related constitutes a prioritary research field, but in general it has been limited to written language and has pointed out lexical-semantic "transparency" phenomena. The research presented here will analyze oral intercomprehension by showing phonematic and prosodic features which will permit that type of intercomprehension. This experimental and contrastive research about phonic realizations in three Romance languages intends to parametrize the variability of phonematic realizations in those languages in order to determine the optimal frequential bandwidth and/or frequency ranges for the intercomprehension between Spanish, Catalan and Franch. The research will also allow to determine "phonologization thresholds" for the different phonematic unities in each of the languages studied, which will also permit to characterize different levels of "phonetic precision" and thus a typology of "acceptable variants" of the phonic substance for the oral intercomprehension between those languages. The research follows thus the orientations established by the European Council and European Commission which set up the necessity of designing new strategies to define and develop "partial skills", which is a peremptory condition to preserve and encourage multilingualism in European Union countries
