    Research interests

    Dr. Vicente Bebia is an ESGO-accredited gynecologic oncologist with an MD from the Universidad de Murcia. He completed his Obstetrics and Gynecology residency at Hospital 12 de Octubre and pursued a post-residency European fellowship at Vall d'Hebron, where he has been practicing since 2019. In addition to his clinical role as an oncologic surgeon, he holds an academic position as a clinical associate professor at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and serves as a researcher at the Biomedical Research in Gynecology team (VHIR). 
    Actively engaged in the field, Dr. Bebia is a member of local, national, and European gynecologic oncology associations. Since 2020, he has been a part of the Executive Committee of The Academy of Medical Sciences of Catalonia and Balearic Islands, contributing to the organization of meetings addressing pivotal topics in cancer surgery and research, catering to both clinicians and patients. Currently, he is a member of the Committee Board for the Cervical Cancer National Guideline (OncoSEGO), set to be published in 2024. 
    As an ESGO-accredited gynecologic oncologist, Dr. Bebia serves as the Educational Supervisor for medical residents and fellows undergoing gynecologic oncology training. He actively participates in prominent gynecologic oncology congresses in Spain and Europe,
    delivering oral communications and holding speaker positions. Notably, he has received the Best Communication award twice, at the Best of European Congress ESGO 2021 and the Gynecologic Oncology National Congress 2022.
    Since 2019, Dr. Bebia has contributed to seven competitively funded projects at VHIR, focusing on translational research in endometrial cancer. His scientific endeavors include impactful papers with an H-Index of 7. Presently, he is involved in three multicentric projects at the Spanish network for clinical research for gynecological cancer (SPAIN-GOG) evaluating surgery for endometrial and ovarian cancer, collating data from over 20 Spanish and Portuguese gynecologic oncology units. His aim is to enhance surgical quality and improve
    survival rates for gynecologic cancer patients.

    Dr. Bebia is an active peer reviewer for journals such as Cancers, Diagnostics, and the International Journal of Surgery.
