Personal profile

Research interests

I have a PhD in Psychology (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, 1996) and I am an associate professor at the Faculty of Psychology (UAB) since 2002.

Specialized in Psycholinguistics, in the beginning of my career I studied lexical access within two projects led by Núria Sebastián and researched children’s narrative and pragmatics with Maria Rosa Solé in several projects between 1995 and 2005.

I have been an active member in two research groups at the UAB, now extinguished: Grup de Recerca Pragmàtica, Comunicació i Adquisició del Llenguatge, lead by Maria Rosa Solé and Grup de Recerca Percepció, Llenguatge i Temps led by my self from 2011 to 2016.

In parallel, and in collaboration with Sonia Kandel, I carried out different studies focused on handwriting learning in childhood (2005-2012) and I was PR of the project Indicadores de dificultades en la escritura obtenidos mediante el estudio en curso (on line) del trazo gráfico. I also collaborated with Liliana Tolchinsky’s team and projects on orthography and lexical acquisition. Recently I've had the chance to join two projects that brought me back to the beginnings of my research, both related to writing and education and led by Naymé Salas and Melina Aparici respectively.

In 2014 I joined the now consolidated research group Transmedia Catalonia and since then I have been participating in several projects of both international and national scope. These projects mainly address accessibility issues in TV and media, such as the project New Approaches to Acessibility that I co-led with Anna Matamala. Recent projects, though, have been focused on the transforming power of technology on society, such as the Traction Project (Opera co-creation for social transformation) and MediaVerse project (A universe of media assets and co-creation opportunities at your fingertips).
