My research agenda addresses topics related to EU politics and decision-making. Concerned with the general question of how decisions at the EU level are made, I have contributed to several research fields on legislative behavior in the European Parliament, transparency and accountability regimes in the EU, the EU legislative and executive policy cycle, EU agency governance and Europeanization of climate and environmental policies. The results of my research, which have often been the outcome of international collaborations, have been communicated in national and international conferences and mostly published in peer-review journals. These include Journal of European Public Policy, Journal of Common Market Studies, Government & Opposition, Environmental Politics, Parliamentary Affairs, International Review of Administrative Sciences, Administration & Society, and Ecology & Society. As a Principal Investigator of several national R+D projects as well as a national coordinator and participant of several EU-level ones, I have assumed leading responsibilities and acquired a variety of research capacities. My overall research skills were also improved during my stays at the University of Urbana-Champaign, the University of Chicago, the University of California at San Diego, the University of California at Berkeley and the European University Institute.

In addition to my scientific work, I have co-authored several reports, deliverables and monographs for the Barcelona City Council, the Catalan administration, and the EU (the latter in the context of Eropean research projects). I have also presented the results of my work in several practitioners’ settings nationally and internationally.

My activity for training young researchers includes the supervision of two PhD theses and more than twenty Masters’ dissertations. I have also contributed to the development of careers of young researchers who were enrolled in research projects I coordinated. Currently, I am the coordinator of the PhD Program on Politics, Policies and International Relations at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona.

Finally, I have participated in several evaluation activities as part of my academic duties. These include reviewing papers for highly-ranked academic journals and participating in several evaluation rounds of both researchers and R+D projects for the State and Catalan administrations and for Fundación La Caixa.
