Research interests
Miranda J. Lubbers is an Associate Professor at the Department of Social and Cultural Anthropology of the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB), Spain, accredited for full professor. She is an ICREA Acadèmia fellow (2021-2025) and ERC Advanced Grant holder (2021-2026). Her research addresses social cohesion and social inclusion. In particular, she analyzes the role that formal and informal social relationships and settings have in the production, mitigation, or exacerbation of exclusion and segregation. Her research has been published in journals such as International Migration Review, Social Networks, Human Nature, the Annals of the American Academy of Political and Social Sciences, the Journal of Research on Adolescence, and the European Journal of Social Psychology. She is a member of the Board of Directors of the International Network for Social Network Analysis (INSNA) and editorial board member of the journals Social Networks and Social Inclusion.
