Research interests
Associate Professor in the Department of Sociology at the Autonomous University of Barcelona since 2008 and member of GRET since 1991.
She has published numerous articles on the impact of social inequalities on post-compulsory transitions, school absenteeism and dropout.
She has been PI of different national projects, among the most recent "Educational dropouts after compulsory secondary education: A longitudinal exploitation of student registration data from Catalonia". (2019-ref.200432).
She collaborates with various public administrations and institutions, including the Agency for the Evaluation of the Educational System of Catalonia, in the framework of which the study "Differences in the educational results of boys and girls in Catalonia, 2012), the General Secretariat of Youth, of the Generalitat de Catalunya, 2002 and 2017), the Diputació de Barcelona (Educational dropout from the perspective of gender: Where are the girls?, 2022) or the Jaume Bofill Foundation (Educational dropout in vocational training, 2023) was developed. It also contributes to the ongoing training of education and youth technicians, within the framework of the Barcelona Provincial Council's training plans.
She teaches subjects in the degrees of Sociology and Early Childhood Education, as well as in several masters, such as the Master of Social Policy and Work of the Department of Sociology of the Autonomous University of Barcelona, the Master of Initial Training of Secondary School Teachers, the Master of Social and Educational Action of the University of Valencia and the Master of Youth and Society. Interuniversity Youth and Society.
Member of the scientific committee of the network "Jeunes et Societés en Europe et Autour de la Mediterraneé since 2005. She is currently researching on the educational pathways of young people in Second Chance schools, in an inter-university project with the University of Valencia.
Three research projects recognised by the AQU (Agency for Quality Assurance in the Catalan University System).
