Full Professor in Physiology at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Dpt. of Cell Biology, Physiology and Immunology.

Ph.D. in Biology at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, postdoc positions at the Univ. of Bristol (UK) and Aberdeen Univ. (Scotland, UK). Specialist in fish physiology and comparative physiology, and current research interests in the area of Fish stress and immune response. Health and welfare in fish. Leader of a Research group (AQUAB-FISH lab) of 8 scientists, including local and international researchers (currently from Portugal, Chile, Iran and China).

Publication of about 230 research papers, most of them in international peer reviewed journals
