Research interests

Joan Ferrarons i Llagostera holds a master’s degree in philosophy of language from the University of Barcelona and a cum laude PhD in translation and intercultural studies from the Autonomous University of Barcelona, where he serves as an adjunct lecturer of translation studies. He has lectured at several European universities and research centres. His research focuses in the reception of Yiddish literature in translation, the impact of translation on minoritised languages as well as the translation of proper names. As a translator, he has rendered into Catalan works by Hermann Hesse, Franz Kafka, Siegfried Lenz, Friedrich Nietzsche and Bertha von Suttner among other authors.
