My academic path begins with my training as a computational statistician in the doctoral program at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (2012-2015). There, I delved into the knowledge of structural equation modeling (SEM) techniques and developed a new statistical model (PATHMOX) that allows the analysis of SEM models in heterogeneous contexts. The algorithm has been presented at various international conferences related to SEM and subsequently published in five Q1 (SJR) journals (2016, 2017, 2020, 2021a, 2021b). I have also developed a library implemented in the R environment for data analysis, currently available in the CRAN repository under the name "genpathmox." I have an accepted article that will be published this year in The R Journal (Q2, SJR index) where the PATHMOX model, its implementation, and how to use it are presented.
My post-doctoral research at UAB and the visiting at University of Naples is guided by two complementary axes: the analysis of heterogeneity in consumer behavior and the development of new statistical models. The analysis of consumer behavior has focused on four contexts: leisure and tourism, consumption of culture, use of information technologies, and, more recently, sustainable food. My substantive research has led to completed doctoral theses and others in progress, articles published in Q1 journals, research projects funded by the EU under the H2020 program, and now a competitive project funded by the Spanish Government.
The statistical methods employed depend on the research problem, but in all cases, there is an interest in discovering systematic heterogeneity in consumer behavior and the effect of influencing factors.
Specifically, in the field of leisure and tourism, I have 2 articles published in Q1 journals and one article published in a Q3 journal (SJR) (2020, 2021, 2023); in the field of information and communication technologies, I have 3 articles published in Q1 journals (SJR) (2020, 2021, 2023); in the field of cultural consumption, I have 3 book chapters in the process of publication, and 2 articles under review in Q1 journals (SJR). It is worth noting that the publications on the technological gap are the result of the first doctoral thesis I supervised, while the publications related to cultural consumption are the results obtained within the framework of the research project funded by the European Union's H2020 program (INVENT), which concluded last July, where I participated as a member of the Spanish team. In 2021, I conducted a visiting at the University of Naples Federico II. I collaborated with several researchers from the university, leading to participation in various conferences. As scientific results of this research period, 2 publications in Q1 journals stand out (SJR) (2023a, 2023b), a book chapter (2023), and a new library implemented in the R environment for data analysis, the "qcpm" library. I should highlight my participation as a member of the organizing committee of the ADAC conference (Naples, 2022).
In the teaching field, it is worth noting that I have undertaken various teaching tasks related to commercial research and data analysis methods at the Autonomous University of Barcelona, both at the undergraduate and master's levels. Additionally, I participated for two academic years (editions 2018/19, 2019/20) as a member of the organizing committee for the Master's in Marketing.
