Emili Grifell-Tatjé is currently Professor of Management and Business Economics in the Department of Business at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona; formerly he was head of the department and academic director of the doctoral program in Economics, Management and Organization (DEMO). He has received research grants from academic and private institutions and has been awarded visiting appointments by various universities around the world. He has published in a wide range of academic journals in the fields of efficiency and productivity analysis, business strategy, social economics and regulation. He is also coauthor of the book, 2015, Productivity Accounting. The Economics of Business Performance by Cambridge University Press and coeditor of, 2018, The Oxford Handbook of Productivity Analysis by Oxford University Press. He received the Award Joan Sardà Dexeus 2019 (ex aequo), by the Association of Economists of Catalonia.

Emili Grifell-Tatjé és catedràtic de Gestió d'Empreses, Facultat d'Economia i Empresa de la Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Va ser director del Departament d'Empresa i director del programa de doctorat "Doctorate in Economics, Management and Organization" (DEMO). Les seves línies de recerca estan centrades en l'economia d'empresa, el mesurament de l'eficiència i productivitat, l'estratègia empresarial i la regulació econòmica. Ha realitzat contribucions teòriques i aplicades en aquestes línies d’investigació. Entre els seus treballs es pot destacar el llibre, de l'any 2015, Productivity Accounting: The Economics of Business Performance per l'editorial Cambridge University Press. És també coeditor del, 2018, The Oxford Handbook of Productivity Analysis per l’editorial Oxford University Press. Ha estat investigador principal de projectes competitius, tant públics com privats, i professor visitant a centres de recerca d'excel·lència tant a Europa, Estats Units com a Austràlia. Va obtenir el premi Joan Sardà Dexeus 2019 (ex aequo) pel Col·legi d'Economistes de Catalunya.
