Research interests
Dolores Isabel Rexachs del Rosario, PhD in Science (Computer) (Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona), is a Full Professor of Computer Architecture and Technology in the Computer Architecture and Operating Systems (CAOS) Department at the University Autonoma of Barcelona (UAB), Spain. She is affiliated with High-Performance Computing for Efficient Applications and Simulation (HPC4EAS) Research Group.
She received a Licentiate (Master) in Computer Science in 1981 (1982), a Licentiate in Pedagogy degrees (2008), and a PhD in Science (Program in Computer) degree from the University Autonoma of Barcelona (UAB) in 1988.
She has been, from 1982, a researcher in national and international research projects. Currently, she participates in a national project (Computación de Altas Prestaciones Eficiente y Segura para Aplicaciones de Servicios de Salud Inteligentes (PID2020-112496GB-I00) Spanish Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness (MINECO) September 2021 – August 2024.
The research activities have been focused in the area of computer architecture, with special emphasis on High-Performance Computing; Availability, Reliability and Resilience in Parallel Computers; Parallel Input/Output Subsystem; and Smart HealthServices.
She has co-authored over 120 full-reviewed technical papers in journals, conference proceedings, and book chapters. She has supervised fourteen PhD thesis in this field.
She has been invited lecturer (visiting professor) at the Universities of Argentina, Brazil, Chile and Paraguay. In addition, since 2012, she has been collaborating with the research group headed by Prof de Giusti (Universidad Nacional de La Plata, Argentina).
She has participated as a member of different international committees (PPAM, ISAT, ISPA, ADVCOMP, SIESC, LAWCC, COMTEL, JCC, CACIC, EuroPar) and in editorial committees (IJoPM, TE&ET, Teaching and Learning of Computer Engineering, Journal of Computer Science and Technology (JCS&T)).

In 2021, she was named Honorary Doctor by Universidad Nacional de La Plata.
Research recognition awards: Best Paper Award (SIMUL 2019), Best Paper Award (SIMUL 2015), ITEA (Information Technology for European Advancement) awards of Excellence 2016: H4H Project, Award of Excellence in the category Business Impact.
