Research interests
My research interests are mainly focused on Eating Disorders (ED) and obesity, in particular on family predictors of poor outcome, development and validation of research instruments, and effectiveness of evidence-based psychological treatments, including eHealth interventions and family support.
Educational management
After my graduation in Psychology carried in Greece and postgraduate studies in Spain (Master in Clinical and Health Psychology, Master in Women and Health), I obtained my PhD degree in Clinical and Health Psychology with an International Mention (Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, May 2014). Throughout this period, I have been hired in 4 academic and research institutions (Universitat Oberta de Catalunya; University of Bergamo; King’s College London; Universidad Autónoma de Madrid) and have developed activities as a researcher in the field of mental disorders, caregiving experience and eHealth. In the last 2 years, I am part of the "Psychiatry, Mental Health, Addictions Research Group" at the Vall d ́ Hebron Research Institute (VHIR) and participate as a research collaborator in a funded research project (Horizon 2020) that uses Virtual Reality Embodiment to Enhance Healthier Lifestyles Among People with Obesity.
General quality indicators of scientific research
In recent years, I have published 28 scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals with a JCR impact factor and other 3 under review, 3 book chapters (2 as first author), and I have more than 50 national and international conference presentations. I have obtained a six-year period of research “Sexenio” recognized by AQU and the approval from AQU for tenure-lecturer (2019). Finally, I have obtained an h index of 16 according to Scholar and of 9 according to WoS with 679 (Scholar) and 309 (WoS) citations.
