Research interests

My thesis focuses on the history of the music chapel of Santa María del Pi in Barcelona between 1700 and 1936 and the study of the standard of living of its musicians comparing their income through time with macroeconomic data in different periods. Since 2016 I have collaborated in the cataloging of musical collections for the IFMuC (UAB) project directed by professor Dr. Josep Maria Gregori.

I have special interest in OMR and HTR technology, a field I am working on presently at the Computer Vision Center at UAB, and I have taught musical heritage and history of music at pre-graduate level..

Before starting research, I taught music for more than 15 years and played as a drummer in dfferent bands of a wide range of musical genres. Currently I am still active as a musician, being part of different bands in the genre of rock and metal.

In 2017 I published with Ficta Edicions a critical edition of the music of the composer Pau Llinàs, chapel master who served between 1711 and 1749 in Santa María del Pi. The publication, in addition to a critical study, contains a transcription of the 6-voice Mass and the 5-voice Magnificat, both composed by him during that period.
