Research interests

The aim of my research has been framed within the study of recent prehistoric societies in the Mediterranean, the interdisciplinary development of archaeological research and strategies for the valorisation, dissemination, and conservation of heritage. The main lines of my research are the study of the processes of production and use of tools during recent prehistory, the evolution of settlement, prehistoric technology, lithic technology, experimental archaeology, underwater archaeology and didactics in the social sciences. My contributions related to the study of recent prehistoric societies in the Mediterranean have focused especially on the process of neolithization. Within the framework of this line, I highlight my leadership in the consolidation of a research project on neolithization in the northeast of the peninsula and the study of different case studies such as La Draga and its lake environment (Banyoles), les Coves del Fem (Ulldemolins) or Plansallosa (Tortellà) among others. Likewise, we have analyzed the archaeological and paleocological sequences using multi-proxies and implemented systematic terrestrial and also underwater surveys. The results have made it possible to address the environmental impact generated by the Neolithic groups and the processes of transformation of the environment due to new agricultural and livestock practices. The consolidation of this project has been possible through leadership and participation in various international, state projects and those developed in the autonomous community of Catalonia. Co-Principal Investigator of a R&D&I Project 2019. Management of 3 research projects of the Department of Culture of the Generalitat de Catalunya. Participation in 8 international projects, 14 participations as a working team in R+D+i projects; and in 25 projects of the Department of Culture of the Generalitat de Catalunya as a researcher. Participation as a researcher in various consolidated research groups SGR (AGAUR): AGREST: UAB-CSIC/IMF i TEDAS UAB, UdG.  I have developed an extensive activity in experimental archaeology that has influenced several researchers who have used this methodology in their work, which is reflected in several doctoral theses, master's theses and articles. I have developed an extensive activity in experimental archaeology that has influenced several researchers who have used this methodology in their work, which is reflected in several doctoral theses, master's theses and articles. In this sense, I work in the Laboratory of Experimental Prehistoric Technology (LATPE) of the UAB in the development of programs that combine research and dissemination. From underwater archaeology, I have applied research methodologies in inland waters that have had a great development in the framework of the projects that I direct and that have influenced other teams.
