I performed my doctoral thesis in physics at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB), evaluated Cum Laude, with a European mention and an Extraordinary Doctorate Award. During this time, I developed methods for characterizing and optimizing Liquid Crystal on Silicon (LCoS) displays. We discovered the origin of effective depolarization in these devices and provided the first experimental evidence of phase fluctuations in LCoS displays. These fluctuations are now a key parameter for major manufacturers like Hamamatsu and HoloEye, significantly impacting the design and performance of these devices.

Afterwards, I conducted a postdoctoral internship at the Laboratoire de Physique des Interfaces et des Couches Minces at the École Polytechnique in Paris. In collaboration with Saint-Gobain Research and the Laboratoire des Technologies de la Microélectronique, Joseph Fourier University in Grenoble, we developed polarimetric methods and instrumentation for the infrared (IR) range. We implemented a Mueller polarimeter that operates in IR and under vacuum conditions. These methods are now utilized at the SOLEIL Synchrotron in France, giving services to industries such as pharmaceuticals, food packaging, light-emitting diodes, and flexible display manufacturing.

Since 2020 I have been an Associate Professor at UAB, focusing on developing polarimetric methods and instrumentation for biophotonics applications. This research has led to over 35 articles in high-impact journals and collaborations with companies and research institutes in the field. Our work in biophotonics aims to enhance imaging techniques and enable early detection of diseases in both human and plant samples, contributing to progress in medical diagnostics and agricultural practices.

I have published 67 articles in indexed journals within the field of Optics (h-index=25), most within the first quartile. Additionally, I have published 35 proceedings of the SPIE and presented over 80 papers at national and international conferences, highlighting our research to the global scientific community. I co-authored two patents related to optical instrumentation for polarimetric measurements. I participated in nine funded projects, including six Spain National projects, one funded by the Valencian Government (AICO2022), one Proof of Concept by the Spain Ministry, and one French National project (Investissements d’Avenir EQUIPEX). From those, I have been co-IP of three funded National projects and also signed contracts with technological enterprises like DENEB MEDICAL (2015-2017) and SENER (2023-now), as well as medical research institutes like the I3PT of the Hospital Parc Taulí (2023).

I have co-directed four doctoral theses in the field of polarization, all evaluated Cum Laude and with International Mention, with two awarded the Justiniano Casas Prize in Optical Image (2016 and 2024). Currently, I am co-directing three more theses, related to the use of polarimetric methods for applications in biophotonics. Over the years, I have taught theoretical, practical, and laboratory classes in various subjects related to Optics and Electromagnetism at UAB, including degrees in Physics, Physics and Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, Telecommunication Systems Engineering, and Nanosciences and Nanotechnology. I have also taught in the interuniversity master's degree in photonics (UPC, UAB, UB, and ICFO). I served as General Secretary of the Spanish Optical Society (SEDOPTICA; 2018-2023). Currently, I am the Head of the Optics Unit at UAB (2025 - now).
