El grup de recerca Urban Mobility neix amb l’objectiu d’adaptar els estudis de mobilitat als canvis que en anys recents s’està vivint a les nostres ciutats. Els nostres patrons de mobilitat estan canviant de forma accelerada i necessitem adaptar les nostres preguntes i mètodes de recerca a aquesta nova realitat. El grup es planteja generar coneixement innovador i de referència global (recerca), formar alumnes pels reptes del futur (formació) i ser un punt de trobada, intercanvi i connexió entre l’àmbit de recerca, el sector públic i el sector privat (connexió). Les nostres cinc línies principals de recerca són: (1) Avaluació dels patrons de mobilitat, (2) Forma urbana i mobilitat, (3) Mobilitat, gènere i inclusió, (4) Noves metodologies i mètodes de recerca i (5) Avaluació de polítiques públiques i processos de planificació (Transversal 2). La nostra recerca es caracteritza per una alta innovació en les metodologies i eines d’anàlisi i una elevada interdisciplinarietat.
