Els mecanismes de regulació del sistema immunitari poden ser causants o participar en moltes
patologies (inflamació, infecció, càncer, autoimmunitat, immunodeficiències). L'objectiu
d’IMMPACTID és estudiar els mecanismes per millorar la detecció i el tractament d'aquestes
patologies. En els darrers anys el grup ha contribuït a: expandir les bases genètiques i
moleculars de les immunodeficiències; millorar el coneixements dels mecanismes de la tolerància
central i perifèrica i el seu paper a les malaties autoimmunitàries; caracteritzar els
limfòctis intratumorals en càncer de mama; dissenyar biosensors per biomarcadors i identificar
factors genètics i immunològics en la COVID-19 severa. En els darrers 5 anys el grup ha
obtingut finançament en 7 projectes competitius com a IPs (1.167.234€), i en 4 convenis/
contractes de recerca com a IPs (514.463€). IMMPACTID ha publicat més de 100 articles en
revistes indexades, 70 dels quals en revistes Q1 i amb un nombre total de 2595 cites.
