El grupo interuniversitaro Poética y política en la primera edad moderna estudia los vínculos entre el pensamiento político y religioso y las prácticas discursivas en el largo siglo XVI.
Se interesa por la historia intelectual y cultural de la primera edad moderna, con especial referencia al imperio habsbúrgico y la monarquía hispánica; analiza los conflictos políticos y religiosos de la Reforma y la Contrarreforma, y su impacto en la circulación de libros e ideas; y examina las formas de gestión de disenso y las nuevas prácticas de lectura y escritura de la literatura, la historia, la política y la filosofía en la era de la confesionalización. Reúne a especialistas en filología, filosofía, teología e historia que proceden de tres universidades catalanas y de varios centros de investigación superior en Europa y Canadá.
