The OFENT is a Spanish Observatory of TV Fiction and New Technologies created in 2008 and dedicated to study production, programming and reception of the contents of fiction, as wells as its transmedia processes through internet.
The Observatory is a platform for exploring new methodological tools, aimed to analyse the feedback between television fiction and the cultural context where programs are produced and consumed.
The main objectives of OFENT are as follows:
- Studying the construction of social identities in new transmedia narratives (youth, gender, immigration, hate speech, etc.).
- Improve the training of PhD candidates, by developing different projects and theses inspired by the OFENT''s researches.
- Contributing to the transfer of knowledge, through observation and analysis of media and cultural texts relations within the cultural context where there are generated and developed.
