Los objetivos del GRC están relacionados con las 3 áreas principales de investigación: (1) el estudio de la producción, circulación y recepción de obras literarias de la Edad Moderna tanto en la cultura ibérica como en la italiana y en general en el sur de Europa; (2) el análisis del diálogo intertextual entre diferentes tradiciones literarias europeas, con atención a los fenómenos de influencia, intercambio, confluencia y divergencia; (3) la edición crítica y comentada de textos de este mismo ámbito geográfico y cronológico, así como su interpretación.
Estos ejes de interés se estructurarán, durante el período de ejecución del proyecto, en cinco desafíos fundamentales: (a) conectar e interpretar las obras desde una perspectiva comparada e interartística; (b) continuar editando y estudiando los corpus en curso; (c) consolidar el paso en humanidades digitales; (d) mantener e incrementar las conexiones internacionales; e) reforzar la transferencia de conocimiento.
