The research group is very active in 3 different frontier research areas:
i. Socio-technical simulation models to design new cognitive computing cockpit supporting tools
to pilots and Air Traffic Controllers to create a Shared situational awareness framework.
ii. Urban Air Mobility, designing and implementing new AI services for a safety, eficient and
smart air transportation Systems.
iii. Unmanned Aeronautical Systems H/W and S/W developments to enhance drones with AI services,
such as automated Conflict Resolution algorithms.
In a nutshell, the main scientific results can be quantified by:
1. Coordination of 1 H2020 project, Partner role in 2 H2020 project, Coordination of a National
project, and 6 contracts with companyies.
2. Overall funds received: 703.685 €
3. More than 30 scientific publications, among which there are 12 Q1 indexed JCR papers.
4. Excellent networking capacity to participate in future Europe Horizon proposals. Actually,
