Els interessos i l'activitat de recerca del nostre grup es centraran els propers 3 anys, de manera general, en l’estudi dels processos/mecanismes psicològics, neurobiològics i neurogenètics implicats en la vulnerabilitat a diversos trastorns mentals, principalment –però no exclusivament- aquells més relacionats amb la simptomatologia “externalitzant” (impulsivitat, agressivitat, trastorns de conducta i de personalitat, i processos emocionals, atencionals i cognitius alterats en aquests trastorns) i “internalitzant” (l’ansietat, la vulnerabilitat a la depressió). Tant amb models animals (rates seleccionades genèticament –RHA i RLA-) com amb procediments psicomètrics i experimentals, amb nens i nenes i amb adolescents/joves caracteritzats per trets d’impulsivitat i conducta
agressiva, estudiarem els possibles mecanismes psico- i neuro-biològics que intervenen en la gènesi, en el manteniment i en el possible tractament/prevenció efectius d’aquells trets conductuals i trastorns.
