El principal repte del Grup MICROMOL es identificar noves dianes bacterianes per desenvolupar estratègies alternatives que augmentin l'eficiència i varietat d’antimicrobians disponibles pel tractament de patògens multiresistents. Els eixos de la nostra recerca són la identificació de dianes terapèutiques, la fagoteràpia i caracterització de la resistència a fags i l’estudi dels mecanismes implicats en la comunicació entre plasmidis i cromosomes.
En el període 2017-2022, hem publicat 43 articles científics, 29 en revistes Q1, 3 capítols de llibre i 1 llibre, acumulant més de 700 cites. Hem generat 35 comunicacions a congressos nacionals i internacionals, liderat 8 projectes competitius (un d’ells del programa H2020), participem en un projecte ERC Proof of Concept i establim regularment convenis amb empreses i d’altres centres de recerca. En relació a la formació de personal investigador, hem dirigit 7 Tesis Doctorals (una amb menció de doctorat internacional) i n’hi ha 5 en curs.
