The Institute of Law and Technology (IDT-UAB) is a research center placed at the Faculty of Law of the Autonomous University of Barcelona. The IDT-UAB promotes an innovative and interdisciplinary approach to research on Law, Technology and Artificial Intelligence. In the last five years, the IDT-UAB has been awarded with 10 European projects, 4 national projects, and 6 international projects (Australia) on a competitive basis. The IDT-UAB’s current research
interests include: data protection and ethical monitoring on the design and implementation of new technological solutions; legal-governance models; LawTech and FinTech; Web of Data; legal ontologies; Industry 4.0, blockchain, and automated legal compliance. The IDT-UAB also offers a European doctoral program on Law, science and technology; and manages a collection of specialized scientific publications at the editorial Springer-Nature.
