Grup d'Òptica

Organisation profile

Organisation profile

The main lines of research of the Optics group at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona are: A) Polarimetry with the focus on the implementation of polarimetric instrumentation and its use in industrial and in biophotonics applications; B) Quantum simulation/computation of relevant many-body problems in condensed matter and high-energy physics, using ultracold neutral atoms via Raman light-dressing, both in the bulk and in optical lattices and Rydberg atoms in reconfigurable tweezer arrays; C) New tools for quantum simulation/computation, in which we aim to explore new Floquet schemes based on moving lattices for Hamiltonian engineering and detection; D) Quantum simulation and engineering of topological systems using ultracold atoms in optical lattices with orbital angular momentum and photonic systems with the help of Supersymmetry transformations and adiabatic techniques; and E) Quantum annealing with superconducting circuits, in particular with flux qubits.
