Organisation profile

Global and Comparative Studies in Education (GLANCE) focuses on the study of the relationship between global governance institutions and education policies and practices. The group specializes in the comparative analysis of global education policy: how education policy ideas are produced, disseminated internationally, and enacted in concrete institutional settings, and with what effects on education quality and equity.
The main goals of GLANCE are to: a) consolidate comparative and global studies in education as an interdisciplinary field of studies in Catalonia; b) contribute to develop this field of studies both theoretically and methodologically through sound and rigorous empirical research; c) inform policy decisions at multiple levels aimed at strengthening the equity and quality of educational systems; d) attract talent and strengthen the international competitiveness of the research on education policy and comparative education being conducted in the Catalan context.
