El Gabinete de Comunicación y de Educación es un grupo consolidado y especializado en la investigación y divulgación científica, que pertenece al Departamento de Periodismo y Ciencias de la Comunicación de la UAB.
El Gabinete fue constituido por la Junta de Gobierno de la Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona (UAB) en 1994 con el objetivo de potenciar la investigación en un campo de confluencia entre dos disciplinas: Comunicación y Educación. Desde su creación, ha desarrollado iniciativas destinadas a integrar, con conciencia y libertad, las tecnologías de la comunicación en la denominada sociedad global o del conocimiento.
El Gabinete de Comunicación y Educación, dirigido hasta marzo de 2021 por José Manuel Pérez Tornero y actualmente por Santiago Tejedor, ha sido reconocido por AGAUR (Agència de Gestió d'Ajuts Universitaris i de Recerca) de la Generalitat de Catalunya como Grupo de Investigación Consolidado en función de su trayectoria, proyección y desarrollo.

- Research lines:
- Improving the design of systems and strategies for intelligent reuse of audiovisual archives (TV, Cinema, and others) for their application in educational innovation: R&D+I.
- Research on the application of media approaches and literacy in advanced technologies (artificial intelligence, virtual reality, gaming, machine learning, etc.) focused on the inclusion of vulnerable groups.
- Identification and study of institutional cultures of innovation supported by Audiovisual resource platforms: case studies and statistics focused on critical and creative skills (media, digital, and informational).
- Study of cultures of journalistic innovation: case studies and statistics centered on news literacy and intercultural dialogue (News Literacy) to address misinformation and hate speech.
- Research on the gender dimension in journalism and communication to identify the drivers for achieving gender equality.
