Organisation profile
El grup investiga mecanismes cel·lulars de transducció de senyals en organismes eucariotes, fent servir diferents models d'estudi, des de eucariotes unicel·lulars, com els llevats, fins a eucariotes superiors, amb especial atenció a espècies d'interès ramader. Investiga també les possibles aplicacions pel que fa a la busca de biomarcadors.
Les línies principals tenen a veure amb:
1) Eucariotes inferiors: s'estudia en llevats la resposta a estrès i els seus mecanismes de senyalització, amb la intenció de desenvolupar noves plataformes per a l'expressió de proteïnes d'interès terapèutic, nutricional i industrial.
2) Eucariotes superiors: s'estudia en mamífers d'interès productiu i animals model la identificació de marcadors d’estrès de diferents tipus (social, deficits nutricionals), amb tècniques bioquímiques i proteòmiques.
