El Departament de Filosofia de la Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona és una unitat acadèmica de reconegut prestigi en l'àmbit estatal i internacional. Al llarg del seu funcionament, s'ha caracteritzat per impulsar una activa labor d'investigació i docència; posant sempre especial èmfasi en la reflexió entorn als problemes fonamentals que afronta la nostra societat actual.
El Departament compta amb un equip docent d'alta qualitat acadèmica i experiència investigadora, la qual cosa es reflecteix en els projectes en els quals participa i en les publicacions internacionals en les quals difon els seus resultats. Per això, ha esdevingut un centre de referència internacional i els seus membres són reconeguts per la seva capacitat de recerca i de mestratge.
El nostre Departament promou també la investigació, la cooperació i l'intercanvi amb altres universitats i institucions, tant europees com americanes, formant part de prestigioses xarxes acadèmiques nacionals i estrangeres. A més, és una unitat on es desenvolupa el treball interdisciplinari, orientat a la reflexió i la comprensió de l'ésser humà i la seva cultura.
