The Centre for Space Research, CERES (IEEC-UAB) is a "without walls" research centre of the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) whose main purpose is the contribution to space research and the development of support technologies to missions and space programs.

CERES is a framework which facilitates the collaboration between UAB scientists and engineers who carry out basic or applied scientific investigations in the field of space technology.

The key competencies of CERES are the promotion, organisation and development of space-relatedresearch in the UAB, together with the training and enhancement of researchers in this field,consistently promoting excellence both in research and publication. CERES also centres on the articulation of the contribution of the UAB to the Institute of Space Studies of Catalonia (IEEC),created in 2006.
