Our group carries out research of international standing in methodology and substantive applications. The goal of the group is to analyse and solve practical multidisciplinary problems through stochastic and statistical modelling tools, and apply the ideas and results obtained in the theoretical investigation to problems arising from a wide range of areas, including epidemiology, phage dynamics, queuing networks, criminology, extreme events, syndromic surveillance and biological dosimetry. Important challenges in these applied areas serve as a key source of the topics for investigation by the group.
