Resum

Two derivatives of vitamin B12, aquocyanocobalt(III) heptapropylcobyrinate (HPC) and aquocyanocobalt(III) heptamethylcobyrinate (HMC), were synthesized and used as anion carriers in supported liquid membranes. More efficient transport was observed when the more lipophilic carrier (i.e., HPC) was used. The effect of several parameters such as the carrier concentration and the composition of the stripping solution on the permeability of the membranes were investigated. The properties of these transport systems were related to the response behavior of ISEs that are based on the HPC carrier. © 1993, American Chemical Society. All rights reserved.
