Resum

This work focuses on the analysis of 19th century neology, specifically on parasynthetic verbs with [a_ar], [en_ar] and [des_ar] structures. To this purpose, we have collected an extensive data corpus from the DRAE (1843) and Ramón Joaquín Domínguez’ s Diccionario Nacional (1846-47/1853). These data have been contrasted with the information given in CORDE, CDH, CE and NTLLE. The results show that these structures are productive in the 19th century, favoured by French influence —mainly when it comes to [en_ar] and [des_ar] structures. This kind of neological forms seems to fit the morphological patterns existing in Spanish from its origins. Moreover, we have detected corradical verbs coexisting with the parasynthetic ones, which have scarcely been maintained in current Spanish.
