N2 - This study aims to investigate and analyze how coaches of Brazilian social projects think and act when teaching life skills to young people who live in areas of social risk. We interviewed six coaches of both football and other sports about different types of educational projects delivered through sport education. A qualitative analysis was developed through the identification of meaning units resulting in the creation of four large dimensions: Teamwork, Discipline, Performance and Bonding, and Integral Education, composing of 28 categories which reflect the philosophies and practices of these educators. The results show that all coaches that participated in this study have a similar profile "coaching life skills model" Gould, Collins, Lauer and Chung (2007) using strategies for teaching life skills, such as fostering autonomy, stimulate the effort and give feedback, but lack a systematic approach and has weak resources to carry out this model.
