Resum

The response of moderate psoriasis to topical treatment depends partially, at least, on the compliance of the therapeutic instructions given to the patient. The aim of this study was to assess the influence than a reinforcement therapeutic programme, to calcipotriol treated psoriatic patients, can have on the response to the treatment as well as on the tolerance and compliance. The reinforcement programme consisted on to spend extra-time explaining the characteristics of the diseases and its treatment. Eight hundred eighty one patients with moderate psoriasis were included in this prospective, open, controlled randomized trial. All patients were treated with calcipotriol cream during 4 months. Moreover, 369 received the reinforcement therapeutic programme and 512 did not. Both groups experienced a favourable and significative improvement but there were not statistically significant differences between both groups. The application of a reinforcement therapeutic programme to patients with moderate psoriasis treated with calcipotriol cream seems not to improve the results of the treatment.
