Resum

This study shares the initiative of Sámi Journalism and indigenous radio in Northern Norway and its contribution to the identity of its people through the production of informative, educational, and entertainment programs for children and young people, that promote learning, participation, and communication from a cultural, situational, and traditional point of view. Through qualitative in-depth interviews with community leaders and Sámi journalists, and participant observation, this study examines the potential of the programming policies of the stations in strengthening the identity and cultural parameters of the indigenous communities in Norway. The research presents Sámi radio as the voice of the local community that contributes to the strengthening of indigenous identity with content aimed at reinforcing the language and culture, promotes ancestral values of their society, and protects nature and territory.
