Racismo institucional en educación : reflexiones sobre la interculturalidad

Resum

In this autoethnographic essay I share some reflections appealing to the tensions and contradictions of interculturality or the intercultural model and its materialization in educational policies and practices. Through a constructive-interpretative analysis, I dialogue with some researchers, academics and/or activists' work, I analyze an institutional document that is representative of the educational community of Catalonia and I write from a triple position as a researcher, counselor and learner who has gone through the educational system being la china. Throughout the text, I discuss the predominance of Eurocentric thinking, its language and its institutionalized practice in both education and academia. Likewise, I appeal to a place of epistemic theorization and political-practical application that continues to exclude the non-white population. This contribution aims to visibilize of some expressions of institutional racism in education, in order to make it a matter of reflection and discussion for the educational and research community.
